At the Wednesday lunchtime intermediate meditation class, we are moving on to the stage of exploring the Metta Bhavana practice, the meditation to develop qualities of universal loving-kindness.

    Claire-Louise

My name is Claire-Louise and I have been teaching Scaravelli inspired hatha yoga classes in Bristol since 2006.

I see yoga as more of an art form than a form of exercise. If we can engage our curiosity whilst moving with the breath, then yoga  is like experimenting with the melody, tone, volume and pitch of the body.

In this way our practice can become more like a meditative dance more...

Entering the Forest - Bristol Young Buddhists

    Aged 18 - 35

Entering the Forest: Myth and Imagination in Buddhism

As we practise Buddhism, we enter into the realm of myth and imagination. Stories and myths have been passed down through countless generations to create our view of ourselves and the world. The earth and rain and fire and other elements are woven through us. To go deeper into our minds is to enter the forest of imagination.

A Calling From the Realm of Symbol: The Empty Seat

Everyone welcome for all or part of the day for shrine building, chanting, reflection, walking meditation, bodywork, conversations, talks, tea more...

    Sangha Night

    Sangha Sangha Night

Journeying on around the Buddha mandala, we come to the Western realm.  The time of day is sunset, and in the fiery evening glow sits Amitabha, the Buddha of Infinite Light.  His figure blazes with a brilliant, ruby red light.  His hands rest relaxed on his lap, and he is completely still, absorbed in deep meditation.  He radiates a love whose wisdom sees the uniqueness of every thing: every plant or tree, every animal or person, every thought or feeling.  more...
