Bristol Young Buddhists - BUDDHISM, ART & RELIGION: THE OPPORTUNITIES

Art, like religion, has the power to awaken us to a higher state of consciousness. In both, we seek a deeper connection to the mystery of existence. But what exactly does religion have to offer the aesthete? And is art just an optional extra for the sincere Buddhist?

Come and hear Singhamanas share some thoughts on why he thinks Sangharakshtia’s vision for a religion of art is a genius element of Triratna Buddhism.

“Touching the void: a catastrophic fall into heart”

    Sangha Night with Vajrin

Evening begins at 7.30pm prompt.  Doors open from 7.15pm

In early 2020, only weeks preceding the full onslaught of the pandemic, Vajrin survived a catastrophic fall from a bike deep within New Zealand bush. Paralysed from the chest down and stranded in Auckland for months of lockdown, he called upon the Dharma. Despite four decades of practice, it didn’t seem to help. Or did it? …in ways he hadn’t predicted. Come hear him speak.
