    Intermediate Meditation Sangha Meditation

During this term, up until April, we will be exploring the Mindfulness of Breathing meditation practice. The tradition of mindfulness in spiritual practice is well established. But what is mindfulness and where does it lead? How can we learn to develop this quality, especially in a world that so often seems to pull us in a different direction?

In 2023 we will be exploring mindfulness through traditional Buddhist approaches but we will also be using innovative techniques to more...

At January’s event we had an opportunity to practice mantra together and bathe in an evening of gorgeous sound and harmony. Following on from this, February’s event will be a chance to explore the Heart Sutra, a well-known text in Mahayana Buddhism which is part of this oral tradition of chanting.

Let your poison be your cure! - Sangha Night

    Sangha Night

Let your poison be your cure!

The vajra (or diamond thunderbolt) is a mysterious and profound symbol which is right at the heart of Tibetan Buddhism (also known as the Vajrayana).  It is associated with the mirror-like wisdom of the blue Buddha Akshobya.  The vajra has much to show us about the path to Enlightenment, including how to transform our ‘poisons’ (or unskilfulness)into wisdom.  Satyalila will share some glimpses into this mysterious world – more...

    Going Deeper in Meditation

    Going Deeper

Padmadrishti is supporting us to look into integration within meditation.

Let’s have a deeper look together at what integration may mean in our practice. We will in particular explore how to integrate our mindfulness practice into different ways of being: simply sitting, simply walking, simply looking, simply being with others etc… and see what effect that has on our practice.

Suitable for those with 3+ years of meditation practice experience within more...

    Parinirvana Day

    Festival

In the face of impermanence, what do we turn to?  What can we trust to be true, lasting and satisfying?  In the last days before his final passing into Parinirvana the Buddha urged his followers to live with the Dhamma as your island, the Dhamma as your refuge, with no other refuge.   Join us on Parinirvana Day as we follow the Buddha’s final teachings and hear his call to take the Dharma into our hearts and minds. There will also be a space in the puja more...

    Sangha Night

    Sangha Night

On this evening we will continue to explore the figure of the blue Buddha through doing some spiritual practice together. We will be doing a meditation that relates to the mirror-like wisdom of Akshobya and explores arising experience as it appears.

We will also be exploring the figure through reciting of verses that through words can create an image of the figure and introduce us to the qualities that contemplation of this Buddha can bring. We will also be focusing the mind on more...
