Living in a Creative Process - Bristol Young Buddhists

    Aged 18 - 35

Art (the creative process) and Buddhism both rely on ‘the gap’.

What can we discover by creating space around our familiar responses and views, and putting our habits on hold? In meditation, communication and relationships and of course art, creating the gap is such a useful skill. Find out more about this fascinating space, always available to us, through practical exercises.

    Arrive at 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start.

Mitra Ceremony - at Sangha Night

    Sangha Night

Tonight we celebrate welcoming two new mitras into the community, Greg and Adam.

These ceremonies are an important and symbolically significant event for the sangha (community) as well as the individuals who are becoming mitras. ‘Mitra’ means ‘friend’ and by becoming a mitra (a friend to the Triratna Buddhist Order) the individual is making a commitment to practising Buddhism within this context. Find out more here.

    Going Deeper in Meditation

    Going Deeper

Suffering and the End of Suffering

All Buddhist traditions, in one way or another come back to the Truth of suffering and the end of suffering. This was the starting point of Buddha’s teaching, pointing to the truth of suffering and the discovery that freedom and joy are possible in the face of the sufferings of human life.

What does that mean to us in our meditation practice?

Three months (Oct, Nov and Dec sessions) of practice to take our meditation more...
