    Sangha Night: Ritual Handover of the Chairship

    This ceremonial handover of the chairship will mark the moment when Vimalavajri officially becomes chair.

    Our current chair Bhadra will be saying farewell and we will be hearing Vimalavajri’s thoughts as she steps into her new role. This will be followed by a ritual in which the symbol of the Bristol chairship will be transferred. It’s a vishvavajra –  a double vajra.

    Mindfulness for Health (8-week course)

    The Breathworks Mindfulness for Health course has helped thousands of people learn how to manage chronic pain, illness, fatigue, or anxiety with greater ease through mindfulness and compassion.

    Sangha Works

    What would it be like to turn all that we do into practice? Would we experience the world, ourselves and others differently?

    Come and found out at Sangha Works – turning the ordinary into the extraordinary!

    We start with a check-in, then choose tasks to work with as practice. These usually involve cleaning the centre, tending the shrine and light gardening work, but can include more! We can offer sitting down jobs as well as more active jobs.

    Lunchtime meditation drop-in (intermediate level)

    If you already have experience of the Mindfulness of Breathing and Metta Bhavana (Loving Kindness) meditations that we practise in our sangha, join us on a Wednesday lunchtime to meditate with others and take your practice deeper.

    Every Wednesday at the Bristol Buddhist Centre. The meditation finishes at 2pm, with the option to stay on until 2.30pm for tea and a chat.

    Beginners’ meditation class

    If you’re curious about and new to meditation, or haven’t yet been acquainted with the practices we follow in our community (Mindfulness of Breathing and Loving Kindness meditations), come along to our drop-in class for beginners on a Wednesday evening.

    You’ll be guided through the stages by an experienced practitioner, with the opportunity to discuss your experience and ask questions.
