Sangha Sangha Night

‘What is the Sangha?’ The Individual and the Spiritual Community.

‘Going for Refuge’ to the Three Jewels of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha is the central act of Buddhist life. While we may feel that we have an idea of who the Buddha was and of the importance of his teaching, by reading books and attending meditation classes, the third ‘jewel’, that of the Sangha, really needs to be experienced for oneself. This should ideally involve active participation in the spiritual community, that “spiritual fellowship with one another which inspires and guides” in the words of the Dedication Ceremony. Our very own Sangha Night is the ideal place both to explore and practise what it means to be part of the spiritual community. On this six-week course, Chandranishta and Ratnadhya, will guide us through some of the many facets of the Sangha Jewel, while exploring the relationship between the individual and the wider Buddhist community.

For those who have attended an introductory course at any time or have equivalent experience. Get in touch if you’re not sure – info@bristol-buddhist-centre.org

We don’t charge a set amount for our classes so everyone can access them. Please give within your means for our classes to help support this community to grow. Give here, or even better set up a monthly donation to help us plan ahead.
