Sangha Sangha Night

By virtue of the golden wheel that he turns in his hands, Vairocana is associated with sovereignty, this being the emblem of the ‘wheel turning monarch’ – the ruler that governs in accordance with Buddhist teachings. A real life example of such a ruler is the Emperor Ashoka the Great, who ruled an enormous empire over two thousand years ago. But what does it mean to live in accordance with the Buddhist teachings, especially when you have responsibility for the lives of millions of people in your hands? We find out about Ashoka, his path to Buddhism, and how he tried to put his beliefs into practice.

Arrive from 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start.

For those who have completed an intro course at any time.
