Sangha (Intermediate) Meditation Class
This event has already happened.
At the Wednesday lunchtime intermediate meditation class, we are moving on to the stage of exploring the Metta Bhavana practice, the meditation to develop qualities of universal loving-kindness.
Many of us maybe struggle with the side of our lives that relates to our relationship with self and others. How can we become more at ease with ourselves and more able to relate with others and are these two things connected?
In what ways can the metta bhavana practice help us to deepen our connection to self, other and world? Is it about developing something particular or is it about a deeper re-orientation of our lives?
What is metta – is it a feeling or an action or something else entirely?
Through the course of this term we will be exploring our relationship to the metta practice in creative ways, looking at how we see metta now and at how we can expand out our understanding of what metta is. We will be using a variety of formats including some small discussions, looking at alternate metta meditation practices, and looking at what it means to feel metta within the context of our lives.
