‘DYING INTO LIFE’

On this day we celebrate the Buddha’s final passing into Nirvana.

Bhadra and Naravira will help us explore the theme of death and what it might have
to teach us about living. Two aspects of the Buddha’s death, the ‘spiritual death’ of
the Buddha and ‘the rebirth’ that came after this. We will explore the spiritual
significance of dying in the Buddhist context and what spiritual death may release us
into.

There will also be the opportunity, in group situations to share and explore our own
experiences with death and to bring to mind loved ones whose death has affected
us.

As an integral part of the day there will be a ritual and puja to dedicate the mural of
Amoghasiddhi in the Buddhist Centre garden.

You are invited to bring along a framed photo of someone who has died that you
have a particular connection with. It will be placed on the special shrine during the
day.
