Introductory Introductory Meditation Retreat

Finding Freedom in a Restricted World | 18th & 19th June

Uncover genuine ease, contentment and meaning in life through exploring profound yet simple teachings. Come together with others to learn, discuss and discover the means to uncover how to become the change you want to see.

We will introduce meditation and Buddhism over the course of the weekend. The Buddhist context helps meditation to be a real power for change. There will be input from the experienced teaching team plus an opportunity for small group discussions to figure things out for yourself.

No charge but we welcome your donations to keep us running and sharing Buddhism and meditation with the people of Bristol.

To benefit most from this opportunity we strongly encourage you to commit to attending the whole of the weekend. It helps us if you book onto the weekend so we have an idea of numbers, but do feel free to show up on the day without having booked.

Do bring a vegetarian / vegan lunch to share!

Schedule for the Weekend

Sat 18th – Buddhism & meditation course (in person at the Centre) 10am-5pm

Sun 19th – Buddhism & meditation course (in person at the Centre) 10am-5pm

If you need to cancel then just email info@bristol-buddhist-centre.org so we can give the place to someone else. Thanks!

In this weekend we cover the same content as the ‘6-week Introductory Course’. We are intending to hold the ‘6-week Intermediate Course’ over a weekend soon too! This will give you access to the ‘Sangha’ (community) events at the centre. Keep your eyes peeled.

All our classes are run on donations which means everyone, regardless of income, can learn about Buddhism and meditation. To keep this revolutionary approach going, please do give what you can! Running on generosity feels like a compassionate response to the world in amongst the consumerist culture we dwell in, which is why it’s so important to us.

Our aim is to inspire a culture of generosity in the way we share Buddhist teachings. Therefore all our meditation and Buddhism activities are offered on a generosity basis – what you contribute is left to your generosity. You don't have to give anything if you don't want to or can't afford to, but we hope you'll be able to contribute appropriately so more people can benefit. To learn more see donate
