Bristol Young Buddhists social: Winter Solstice reflection and ritual
This event has already happened.
On the night of the full ‘Cold Moon’, in honour of the Winter Solstice and the beginning of the sun’s return, we’ll gather for an evening of reflection and simple ritual.
This will be a special opportunity to look back on the year gone by and ahead at the year to come, sharing our stories of experience gained and lessons learned.
Bring along a clean glass jar (or several if you have them), big enough to hold a tealight, for a special moment in the ritual where we’ll honour the dark and celebrate the light.
Feel free also to bring cuttings of evergreens to offer to the shrine. (Ivy, laurel and yew are poisonous when consumed; please be careful). When collecting cuttings we invite you to bring to mind respect and gratitude towards the plant.
Lastly, we encourage you to come with poems, extracts or other short readings relevant to the themes of winter, the new year, darkness and light, or the coming of Spring.
We look forward to celebrating the approach of a new year and a new phase of life with you!
