“Every moment of equanimity is a moment of waking up from the delusion that things should be as we want them to be.” Toni Bernhard, from “How to Wake Up”

This summer we have spent three evenings dwelling together in the abodes of the four immeasurables, or the brahma viharas. We started by practicing cultivating metta or loving kindness towards ourselves and others, allowed ourselves to feel compassion or karuna when metta meets our own suffering and the suffering of others, and we’ve explored sympathetic joy or mudita in response to others’ happiness.

Join us for the final evening in this summer series where we will contemplate equanimity or upeksha. It will be an opportunity to meditate together, to reflect on our experiences amongst friends, and to learn a little bit about what upeksha is… and what it isn’t!

Open to all those aged 35 and under. Our guest teacher will be Maitrijyoti. Arrive from 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start until 9.30pm. No need to have attended previous sessions.

Open to all those aged 18-35 (newcomers welcome!). Arrive 7.15pm for 7.30pm start.

We can run these classes due to the generosity of those who have come along before. Please donate to help us keep sharing Buddhism and meditation with the next person who comes through the door.
