Nirajadhi joins us this month with an opportunity to delve deeper together into the treasures of meditating with others (as opposed to practicing on our own at home).  The evening will be what is known as a ‘Sesshin style’, from the Zen tradition, with a format of sitting, walking meditation and sitting in silence.  She has been engaging in this pattern of practice for 25 years in a variety of contexts (day retreats, practice evenings and intensive silent meditation retreats including a month long one.)  She says: ‘This rhythm of meditation has really deepened my mediation experiences through more intensive practice conditions.  It has also supported me to experiment and gain confidence with carrying meditative absorption through different postures.  These conditions also offer a direct experience of what arises when a number of people practice in this way together, potentially offering a sense of sangha [community] creation without words.’

Arrive from 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start. Open to all aged 18-35 years inclusive.

This community runs on the energy that you and others like you put into it. In order to improve our events, grow our community and support those who work at the centre to keep us offering Buddhism and meditation to the people of Bristol, please give a donation for the events you attend. Thank you.

Our aim is to inspire a culture of generosity in the way we share Buddhist teachings. Therefore most of our meditation and Buddhism activities are offered on a generosity basis – what you contribute is left to your generosity. You don't have to give anything if you don't want to or can't afford to, but we hope you'll be able to contribute appropriately so more people can benefit. To learn more see donate
