“In Buddhism there is a movement of wisdom upwards or downwards, and a movement of compassion outwards. Corresponding to this, there is in art an intensification or heightening of sensibility, as well as an extension or widening of sympathy.” – The Religion of Art, Sangharakshita

Buddhism has a rich history of art and imagery. Why is this significant and why do some Buddhists meditate on images?

Join us in exploring Buddhist artwork and opening to it as part of practice.

With guest teacher Moksanandi and the Bristol Young Buddhists Team.

Arrive from 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start.

From October to January we are running a mini-series exploring the arts as part of Buddhist practice. Last month we looked at writing through a workshop. This time we are exploring our relationship with arts in another way: imagery and imagination.

For those aged between 18 and 35 (inclusive). No need to book.
