Blow on a dead man’s embers

And a live flame will start.

Robert Graves

Bhante Sangharakshita, the teacher and founder of the Triratna Buddhist Order and Movement died on 30 October 2018.  We’ll be marking the 5th anniversary of his death by gathering to share and celebrate the many ways in which he’s still alive amongst us.  His ‘Dharma body’ is very much with us through his writings and some individuals in the Sangha will give us a glimpse into their favourite Bhante books in short talks.  We’ll also be chanting the five particular mantras associated with the archetypal figures he wished us to connect with at the time of his death.  The day will include an introduction by Satyalila, meditation, short talks by members of the Sangha, discussion groups, mantra chanting and a concluding puja.

Please bring vegetarian lunch to share and anything you’d like to make as an offering in the puja.  All welcome.

Our aim is to inspire a culture of generosity in the way we share Buddhist teachings. Therefore most of our meditation and Buddhism activities are offered on a generosity basis – what you contribute is left to your generosity. You don't have to give anything if you don't want to or can't afford to, but we hope you'll be able to contribute appropriately so more people can benefit. To learn more see donate
