Arts Cafe Season

Arts Cafe Season

The Artist as True Individual

Bhante Sangharakshita identified valuing the arts as a distinctive emphasis of the Triratna Buddhist Community and this season of events will include some exploration of this with reference to his teachings on the ‘True Individual’.   Events will include:

§  A launch event (afternoon of Sat 23 Oct) which will introduce the season and theme more fully and include an interview with Bhadra who, for much of his life, has been a practising artist

§  A celebration of Sangharakshita’s connection with William Blake  (afternoon of Sat 30 Oct – the third anniversary of his death)

§  An interview and workshop with Shraddhalocani and Bee – both practising artists who graduated in different decades from Leeds School of Art (afternoon of Sat 20 Nov)

§  An Arts Cafe Evening – to share and celebrate our creativity (evening of Sun 28 Nov)  (If you’d like to book at a slot to share something at the Arts Cafe Evening itself, please email artscafe.bristolbuddhistcentre@gmail.com.)

Interspersed with hybrid/in-person events will also be a series of four Friday evenings on Zoom, to ‘meet, listen and make‘: find out more here!

Fri 29 Oct  – 7.15 – 9. 15 pm meet, listen and make – zoom

Fri 12 Nov – 7.15 – 9. 15 pm meet, listen and make – zoom

Fri 19 Nov – 7.15 – 9. 15 pm meet, listen and make – zoom
