Sangha Night: Arts and the Spiritual Life

Sangha Night: Arts and the Spiritual Life

Tue May 12th 2026 7:30pm - 9:30pm
booking not required
by donation

Ratnadhya, himself a professional musician and actor, discusses the importance of the Arts as part of the ‘Higher Evolution’, leading on from Kulamitra’s series of talks on the subject.

Appreciation of the arts was one of the distinctive emphases that Sangarakshita brought to his teaching of the Dharma, going so far indeed, in one of his early books, as to speak of a ‘Religion of Art’.

We’ll be exploring how engagement with the Arts can play an important part in our spiritual practice and have a chance to incorporate elements of poetry and music in the evening’s meditation.
