On this half-day dedicated to Padmasambhava – we will be exploring the Great Guru’s teachings
on Going for Refuge and Faith. In his mythical life story, The Life and Liberation of Padmasambhava,
he refuses to make obeisance to the king of Tibet – demonstrating that he does not go for refuge to
temporal power – but does make obeisance to the handmaiden of the dakini when she reveals the
mandala of enlightenment in her heart – going for refuge to the golden jewel of enlightenment.

Following this, in his Advice from the lotus Born, he entreats his foremost disciple, Yeshe Tsogyal, to
have faith, in a moving evocation of shraddha. We will conclude the half-day with the Puja to Padmasambhava.
