Sangha Night

“The gift that Vairocana gives us is the responsibility of sharing what we have learned with others.
The final lesson of the Mandala is that no experience is complete until it has been communicated.”
[Vessantara : ‘Meeting the Buddhas”]
As we reach the end of our year exploring the Five Buddha Mandala, this evening we will take as our
starting point the ‘teaching mudra’ or hand gesture of Vairocana, the Buddha of Illumination at the
centre of the Mandala. and investigate some of the different ways in which the Dharma can be
communicated. In particular we will be looking at the use of simile, of sound (mantra) and symbol as
they apply to the Buddha figures explored this year. Each offers an approach to communicating
something that lies beyond words and concepts, and which, like Vairocana, can illuminate and
inspire our path to greater integration and, ultimately, to shed light on the mystery of Enlightenment
itself.
Arrive from 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start.
For those who have completed an intro course at any time.
Please do give for the classes and events you attend. Every financial gift is appreciated, and it is with your generosity that our centre is here and thriving.
