The late Buddhist teacher Ayya Khema described the Brahma Viharas as “the only emotions worth having.” So this summer we are delighted to bring you a series of events on these four prized emotions (or mindstates) that give us a helpful framework to cultivate positive behaviours and minimize harmful ones. The events will be spread over four summer evenings, covering one on each of the Brahma Viharas: loving kindness (metta), compassion (karuna), sympathetic joy (mudita) and equanimity (upeksha).

Come and join us to learn more about the first of these on Friday 3rd June 2022 with Kamalavajra and the Bristol Young Buddhist team.

Bristol Young Buddhists is held on the first Friday of the month. Ask to join the WhatsApp group to hear about our socials.

Our aim is to inspire a culture of generosity in the way we share Buddhist teachings. Therefore all our meditation and Buddhism activities are offered on a generosity basis – what you contribute is left to your generosity. You don't have to give anything if you don't want to or can't afford to, but we hope you'll be able to contribute appropriately so more people can benefit. To learn more see donate
