Bristol Buddhist Centre Open Day

Saturday 11 September 2010

On 11 September, the Bristol Buddhist Centre will be opening its doors to anyone and everyone who’d like to see who we are and how we practise.  The day will include:

  • At 10 am, a short dedication ceremony, to bring to mind the day’s practice for those running the day, but also for anyone who’d like to join us
  • The opportunity to learn for free, the two main meditation practices we teach – the mindfulness of breathing and the loving-kindness or metta bhavana meditation
  • A free yoga class
  • An introduction to the Buddha’s approach to change, suffering and the unthinkable
  • A simple concluding session at 5 pm when we’ll chant together for the benefit of all being “May all beings be well, may all beings be happy” with words in Pali (the closes we can get to the Buddha’s own language) to the tune of an old Spanish pilgrim’s song.

Outside we’ll have stalls, facepainting and other activities for children and, of course, tea …

Do join us for all or part of the day – programme (with timings) to be published at the beginning of September.
